The Bottom Line

March 31, 2011

With all the recent grumbling over Android no longer being "open", no one seems to be quoting the last line of the Bloomberg Businessweek article that's been fueling the fire:

An Overabundance of Amazing

March 26, 2011

Why has the word "amazing" become THE superlative for "good"? Personally, I think "amazing" is kind of a neutral word, but I understand that language has a certain amount of fluidity over time. What I can't understand is the use of the same adjective by so many people to describe everything. What's wrong with "fabulous", "fantastic", "marvelous", or "wonderful"? Heck, throw in a "terrific" now and again. There's a veritable cornucopia of adjectives meaning "way better than good". Why not put them to good use?

Update: Or you can just do what this guy did.
