An Overabundance of Amazing
March 26, 2011
Why has the word "amazing" become THE superlative for "good"? Personally, I think "amazing" is kind of a neutral word, but I understand that language has a certain amount of fluidity over time. What I can't understand is the use of the same adjective by so many people to describe everything. What's wrong with "fabulous", "fantastic", "marvelous", or "wonderful"? Heck, throw in a "terrific" now and again. There's a veritable cornucopia of adjectives meaning "way better than good". Why not put them to good use?
Update: Or you can just do what this guy did.
